Frequently Asked Questions
See below for answers to frequently asked questions about our programming!
where is the studio located?
Our studio is located at 135 Main Street, Salt Pond/Burin, Newfoundland and Labrador. We are located beside the Burin Soccer Field in the old Price Choppers building. Our entrance is the second door from the soccer field.
What should I bring to class?
We recommend all dancers bring water with them to class as we do not have access to a drinking fountain at our studio. Dancers should bring appropriate footwear to class, see each class’s page for more information. Please note no outdoor shoes are permitted on our studio floors for any classes or events.
How can I pay for classes?
We accept e-transfer to lverdance@outlook.com, no password required. We are also able to accept cash, debit/credit cards, or cheques made out to “Alden Spencer” in-person at our studio.
Who can join dance classes?
Our adult classes are open to all dancers of any experience level ages 18+. Teen street beats are open to all dancers/genders ages 12-18. Rockstar classes are open to all dancers/genders ages 4-9. Ballet classes are open to all dancers/genders ages 3+.
does my dancer need to attend every class?
We begin working on show choreography early in both semesters of ballet. We also spend most of the five week programs on show choreography. If your dancer misses a class, we are unable to go back and re-teach the choreography. Please let us know in advance if your dancer is unable to attend where possible. We want to ensure every dancer feels confident in their moves!
what’s your refund policy?
Adult classes are non-refundable. If you book a drop-in slot and no-show, you may be liable for the full cost of the missed class. Youth programming is non-refundable. If your dancer paid for both semesters of ballet in September and decides not to return before classes begin again in January, the Spring fees will be refunded. Rentals and parties require a non-refundable deposit to book, with the balance due if cancelled less than 48 hours before the rental or party.
my dancer will turn 3 in 2026, can we register now?
All dancers must be aged 3 on or before December 31, 2025 to join our youngest class. Dancers who turn 3 in 2026 are not eligible to register for ballet classes until the 2026-27 dance season opens.
class is full, do you have a waitlist?
We offer a waitlist for all of our classes and programs. Once a program is filled, a waitlist registration form will be posted in its place. Registration is first come, first serve, including openings off the waitlist. Registration is required for all of our youth classes, and we strongly recommend registering for drop-ins to guarantee your spot.
how can we be notified for next year’s registration?
We welcome those who wish to be notified when class registration for our youth programs open to contact us with your email address. We will add you to our mailing list to be notified when new programming is available and when registration opens.
Why should i register for an account?
We encourage all dance guardians for all our youth programming to register for a free account on our website. We will post more detailed information about classes, including costume information and class cancellations, on the member’s only site.
what are your class cancellation policies?
No refunds will be given when a dancer misses class for any reason.
Where there is a cancellation due to weather or instructor illness, we will add another class to make up for it. Depending on the time of the semester, the make up class may be after the show.
